Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, through its Students’ Representative Council (SRC), has announced plans to host a grand cultural event tagged “The Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Renaissance Festival.” The festival is part of the university’s annual cultural carnival for the 2024/2025 academic session and will take place from August 14th to 17th, 2025.
With the theme, “Honoring the past; uniting the future,” the event aims to celebrate the enduring legacy of Sir Ahmadu Bello while promoting unity among the diverse cultures within the university.
Expectations of the festival include:
1. Grand Durbar showcasing traditional horse riding displays
2. Traditional cultural performances reflecting Nigeria’s rich and diverse ethnic heritage
3. Traditional palace sitting to reflect leadership and ancestral traditions.
The event is expected to draw active participation from students across all faculties and cultural groups in the university.
It promises to be a vibrant celebration of history, culture, and youth involvement in heritage preservation. The SRC encourages all students to attend and showcase their cultural pride in honor of the university’s founding legacy.
