NANISS ABU Zaria Hosts First Agro-Investment Summit

From classrooms to farmlands, Niger State students are taking the lead in agriculture at ABU Zaria’s historic summit.


The National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has held its maiden Students Agro-Investment Summit with the theme “Students as Farmers; Models for the Farmer Governor of Niger State.”





The event, which took place on August 30, 2025, at the Balarabe Tanimu Conference Hall, brought together students, policymakers, and agricultural experts to promote youth participation in agribusiness.


Former Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah, served as Father of the Day, while former Governor Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu (Talban Minna) was ably represented by Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya. Other dignitaries, including Senator Mohammed Sani Musa and Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Mammagi, also sent representatives.


Awards were presented to notable personalities such as Mr. Olayinka Yunusa Isma’il, Alh. Abdullahi Hassan Wasagi, Dr. Idris Mohammed, and Barr. Mohammed Alhaji Kolo for their contributions to education, agriculture, and student development.


The summit was described as a groundbreaking platform for empowering students to play an active role in agriculture and the future of Niger State.
