For a very long time we have always bought and worn a T-shirt but yet we don't know how it came into existence. Research says more than 6.5 billions of people has and wears T-shirt.
Firstly, what you need to know is that T-shirt is a style of fabric named after the T- shape of its body and sleeves. The letter "T" in t-shirt were used for t-shirt in its name creation because when you flatten a T-SHIRT on a surface and pull the arms out to the sides of it you get a shape in the form of a "T". The "T" in T-shirt is spelt as "Tee" for short which evolved from undergarment used in the 19th century and in the mid 20th century.
Secondly, T-shirt transitioned from undergarments when doing farm or ranch chores and worn by Navy men to general use and casual clothing which has now become popular. About 2 billion t-shirts are sold worldwide per year.
Traditionally, it has short sleeves and round neck line known as a crew neck which lacks a collar or also known as V-neck but it is mostly called t-shirt. T-shirt are generally made of stretchy, light and in expensive fabric and are easy to clean.
Similarly, t-shirt was given the many names like "Bachelor under shirt" or "Condition pullover". But was first called T-shirt in F. Scott Fitz Gerald's book titled "This side of paradise" the name caught on, made sense and today popularly known and called T-shirt.
Today, we can generally say everyone now has a t-shirt and it can be worn on skirts, trousers and in anyway you choose to style your outfit. So when you where a T-shirt, keep in mind these things.
