Upon all the fear and hope of rejection,

Yes! I summoned vigor to my breast,

All still, I was stoned: "NO" to my glassy heart.

Upon pouring out my feelings,

Upon all the anticipation of you saying yes to my proposal,

Upon all the nights you came to raid my thoughts, leaving me with sleepless nights,

Upon all the stalking I have done to steal a glance,

Upon all the dreams I've had

of you, our children, and I,

Playing around, with you, one on my spine,

And the twin, holding onto my hand,

Shaping their mouths with smiles,

Pervading the air with laughter.

Yes! You said "NO,"

But my desires never fade.

Look into the depth of my eyes and see in them the self-consuming fire of love.

I truly desired no one but you.

Please reconsider my proposal, lest I shake hands with death.
