NRC Warns Against Fraudulent Train Booking Websites

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has issued a public warning about fraudulent websites illegally collecting money for train tickets through personal bank accounts, posing financial risks to unsuspecting travelers.

In a statement released on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025, Mr. Callistus Unyimadu, Chief Public Relations Officer of NRC, emphasized that these unauthorized platforms have no affiliation with the corporation and any payments made through such channels are at the victim's risk.

Safety Guidelines

NRC strongly advises passengers to:

1. Only use verified booking channels

2. Never make payments to personal or unverified accounts

3. Avoid engaging with websites not officially endorsed by NRC

4. Be cautious of unusually low prices or unprofessional-looking sites

Official Booking Platforms

NRC has authorized only three official online booking platforms:

1. Warri-Itakpe Train Service (WITS): https://nrc-fane.ng

2. Abuja-Kaduna Train Service (AKTS): https://nrc.tps.ng  

3. Lagos-Ibadan Train Service (LITS): https://nrc.gsds.ng

Verification and Action

Passengers can verify any booking platform by visiting NRC's official website at www.nrc.gov.ng or contacting customer service centers directly. 

The corporation is working with security agencies to investigate and prosecute those behind these fraudulent schemes. NRC remains committed to ensuring passenger safety and satisfaction while protecting travelers from financial scams.
